Seniors Helping Seniors® In-Home Care Celebrates Active Aging Week by Promoting Connection, Wellness and Purpose
October 6-12 is Active Aging Week, a nationwide celebration of older adults and the positive benefits of living a healthy, engaged lifestyle. At Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care, every day is an opportunity to honor and support the contributions of seniors. During Active Aging Week, the team was proud to join the national celebration by spotlighting the important role seniors continue to play in their communities.
“At Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services, we don’t just care for seniors — we empower them,” said C.J. Girod, President of Seniors Helping Seniors® Southwestern PA. “Our caregivers are seniors themselves, so they understand the value of staying active, engaged and independent as we age.”
Seniors Helping Seniors® was started with the idea that older adults can support one another. The company pairs senior caregivers with clients who need help with daily tasks, building friendships that reduce loneliness and encourage healthier, more independent lives.
“We’re proud to provide more than just care — we provide connection,” said Travis Hudson, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors® Pittsburgh Northeast. “Active Aging Week is a reminder of the power of community, purpose and engagement in helping older adults thrive.”
As the number of Americans aged 65 and older continues to grow — projected to exceed 78 million by 2035 — Seniors Helping Seniors® locations remain committed to serving this vital and growing population with compassion and peer-to-peer support.
