Every Step Forward: Advanced Foot and Ankle Care Close to Home

Our feet carry us through every part of life—whether it’s keeping up with children, enjoying a weekend hike, or simply moving through the day with ease. When pain or injury gets in the way, it can feel like everything slows down. That’s why WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital’s Foot and Ankle team is here: to help patients get back on their feet and back to the things they love most.

Our fellowship-trained podiatric surgeons bring a high level of skill and experience to every patient they see. From sports injuries, to lingering pain from past issues, to chronic conditions that make walking difficult, our team is equipped to handle it all. The full range of services—diagnostics, advanced surgery, and rehabilitation—means that patients don’t need to travel far for answers or relief. Care is close to home, and it’s centered on restoring movement, independence, and comfort.

We’re also proud to be building the future of foot and ankle care. WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital is home to the first foot and ankle advanced surgical residency in the entire state of West Virginia. As an academic-based community hospital, Wheeling is uniquely positioned to combine advanced medical education with the compassionate, community-focused care patients expect and deserve. This program brings in the brightest new physicians, fosters innovation, and ensures that patients today and tomorrow have access to the very best treatments available.

Most of all, our Foot and Ankle service line is about people. It’s about the athlete eager to return to the field, the grandparent who wants to walk without pain, and the everyday patient who deserves to feel steady and strong with every step. With advanced technology, expert surgeons, and a commitment to compassionate care, we’re proud to walk alongside our patients—helping them move forward, one step at a time.
