Amy Jennings DC – Jennings Chiropractic

Amy Jennings DCEducation: Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic

Years In Practice: 9

Why did you choose your specialty? Both of my parents injured their backs at about the same time while I was in college trying to decide a direction. My dad called and said "I think chiropractic is what you are looking for." I shadowed his doctor for a few weeks and fell in love with the field.

What symptoms do patients ignore most? Dehydration

What question do patients most often ask? How long will it take for me to get better?

What advice do you wish patients would take seriously? Drink more water and once you feel symptoms, don't WAIT to get treated.

Tell us about your most compelling case. My headache patients have the most dramatic changes. I had a patient come to the office with a 20+year headache problem who got relief within 4 or 5 treatments. Her husband thanked me for giving him his wife back. It was the first time in over 20 years that she had gone even a day without a headache.

What innovation has changed treatment in your specialty? Decompression tables and inversion tables

What is the biggest myth you deal with and what is the truth? The statement that once you start treatment you HAVE TO come for the rest of your life. It's not that you have to do anything. You can get better, become stronger and not need chiropractic as much but you SHOULD stay well adjusted throughout your life. Once you get healthy you should want to stay healthy and maintain!
