Get Your FREE Survival Kit and Quit Smoking

Many smokers make the same New Year’s Resolution…quit smoking on January 1.  Unfortunately, most smokers start out with good intentions, but find out quickly that their addiction to cigarettes is one of the hardest habits to break.  Most smokers attempt to quit five to seven times before they are successful.
The American Respiratory Alliance can help increase the odds with a FREE 8 week smoking cessation clinic beginning on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Cranberry Township, PA.   To register for this clinic please call Mary Ann Valasek at 1-800-220-1990 or send her an e-mail at mvalasek@healthylungs.org with your name, address, and telephone number and Mary Ann will contact you.  Participation is limited to a first come first served basis.
Mary Ann Valasek, Director of Tobacco and Health Programs at the Respiratory Alliance will lead the free clinic and work with individuals who want to quit smoking for good this year.
The Respiratory Alliance is also sending out free smoking cessation survival kits with helpful information on how to quit smoking and clever tools to help curb smoker’s cravings.
The Respiratory Alliance also offers a free web-based 21 Day Personal Smoking Reduction Program.  The 21 Day Program is a day-by-day approach that lets the smoker gradually reduce smoking over a period of three weeks. The step-by-step procedures and the three week period is effective in creating enough of a change in behavior that the smoker can get a real hold on breaking a very powerful habit.   This program is available online at www.healthylungs.org.
Most of the programs provided by the Respiratory Alliance are offered free of charge.  Public and private donations help make this possible.  Every dollar raised by the Respiratory Alliance remains in western Pennsylvania to provide programs and services for the prevention and control of lung disease for the residents of this region, and we are the only local lung health organization that can make this guarantee.
For more information on tobacco or other services provided by the Respiratory Alliance, please call 1-800-220-1990 or visit  www.healthylungs.org.
