Christian Home Healthcare Starts New Monthly Outing Program
By Lisa Bianco

Spring Guay, Human Resources and PR specialist, is excited about the new monthly outing program Christian Home Healthcare last month began to offer clients. "Once a month we organize outings for our clients. For example, in June we had a tour at the Carnegie Natural History Museum, and July's outing is scheduled for Kennywood Park. We have 42 RSVPs so far for Kennywood Park. These outings really help our clients feel like they're part of the community, and helps them socialize in a way they could not afford to do before."

Many of Christian Home Healthcare's clients are in the PDA-waiver program (ages 16-60), meaning they've received a waiver from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and they qualify for Social Security or County Assistance. Therefore limited income and resources is an issue for these individuals. Spring adds, "I feel so sad when I see our clients stuck in their homes so much of the time, isolated and bored. Our monthly outing program gets them out into the community. They make friends. And about 50 or so clients are even part of Facebook and keep up with our events that way. It's great to see them having fun with it online too."

Christian Home Healthcare aims to build long-term relationships with its clients, with high quality personal care services that have simplified and improved the quality of life for hundreds of clients. The reach of their services covers Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. Christian Home Healthcare is represented in 12 PA counties, including Beaver, Butler, Allegheny, Washington, Westmoreland and Mercer counties. In business for 11 years, Christian Home Healthcare is accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Personal care attendant services are designed to keep individuals out of nursing homes, focusing primarily on Assisted Daily Living skills (ADOs).

Personal Care Attendant Services are an important means to address the special needs of clients and the physically challenged. Services include:
