Feeding And Sensory Disorders Center For Children Opens In Greenfield

For parents, the nightmare of mealtime and/or sensory challenges can leave them feeling frustrated with nowhere or no one to turn.  Now, a new holistic and family-friendly facility, known as Thrive Place Child Development Center in Greenfield, offers help for newborns, infants and children up to 8 years of age.  Emphasis is placed on including parents in the process of therapy so the feeding exercises and sensory based activities can be built into daily routines both in and outside the home.
Pittsburgh business partners Tara Deringor and Julie Hudak, both licensed physical therapists specializing in early intervention of young children, recognized a need for the center and, with help from their staff built what is now Thrive Place. Their objective is to work with families to develop structured and individualized feeding, sensory and nutritional plans designed to help children reach their personal potential.
The Thrive Place Child Development Center is located at 4070 Beechwood Blvd. in Greenfield (the old Bruster’s ice cream shop).  Thrive Place’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
